The MicTube Duo is a 2-channel preamp that adds the warm, vintage tone of natural vacuum tubes to the sound of any microphone or instrument. It utilizes the low-noise 12AX7 vacuum tube to provide a user-friendly design and vintage sound for both recording and live performances. For sound quality priority, it is designed with the shortest possible circuitry, ensuring faithful output of the audio signal input from the microphone.
It amplifies mic-level signals to line-level with the characteristic sound pressure and quality of vacuum tubes. Furthermore, the output sound quality can be finely adjusted with the knobs and buttons on the front panel. The GAIN -20dB button attenuates high-level input signals by 20dB. The PHASE button inverts the input signal phase, which is useful for setups with multiple microphones. The 48V PHANTOM button allows the use of condenser microphones.
The rear panel is equipped with standard XLR and 1/4 standard phone jacks (unbalanced), allowing connection of various sources in addition to microphones. It can also be used as a DI box for guitars and basses.
The GAIN and DRIVE knobs adjust the output level and tone. You can set your preferred sound, from a natural, clean tone to a tube-driven tone.
